Tickets Are Now on Sale for the Annual Plow-to-Plate Dinner and Performance!

The Linda Mae Mahon Lema Foundation is proud to partner with the Elk Grove Historical Society for the annual Plow-to-Plate dinner and entertainment event on Saturday September 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The dinner will be an evening of fine dining prepared by a local chef using only high quality foods from the Elk Grove area, with accompanying wines and beer from local sources. It will be held under tents at the Elk Grove Historical Society’s Heritage Park Museum in Elk Grove Regional Park, which is located on 9941 East Stockton Boulevard in Elk Grove.

The LMML Foundation will produce the entertainment which will include live music throughout the evening by the LMML Foundation String Quartet. The highlight of the night will be the annual live Play Reading, which will retell a piece of history that was captured and recorded by the LMML Foundation in the previous year.

The performance will be presented by the LMML Foundation Players, a cast and crew of current and former TheaterWORKS students from Sheldon High School. This year, the performance will retell the story of the Elk Grove Book Club. Founded in 1937 by five Elk Grove women, the Elk Grove Book Club is one of the oldest, continuously operating book clubs in the country.

The Book Club Members of past and present have always been pillars of the Elk Grove community. Over the years, ten schools and fourteen parks have been named in honor of these women and their families. Their activities and recognitions have been significant and wide-ranging. The LMML Foundation is honored to portray this story.

Tickets to the Plow-to-Plate dinner and entertainment event are $80, which includes the Linda Mae Mahon Lema Foundation entertainment and performance, and can be purchased on the Elk Grove Historical Society website by clicking here. We can't wait to see you there!
